One hundred outstanding entries to the Vietnam Heritage Photo Awards 2014 contest are on display at an exhibition opened in Ho Chi Minh City on October 22.

The photos capture beautiful landscapes and people across Vietnam, from northwest to southwest, and from borders to sea and islands region.

The contest was launched by the Vietnam Heritage Magazine in July 2014 to provide a forum for professional and amateur photographers nationwide to showcase their love for their motherland.

The organising board received around 4,400 entries in two categories − single photos and photo sets − capturing the country’s natural and cultural heritage.

The exhibition will go on to be held at universities in Can Tho, Da Nang, Nha Trang and Hanoi. An awards ceremony honouring winning submissions is scheduled to be held in November this year in HCMC.
