Developing the night-time economy has become one of the new drivers of economic growth, promoting the development of various traditional and non-traditional industries and businesses. Artistic activities are essential in the development of the night-time economy. The development of the night-time economy is currently in line with the overall development trend of the country, aiming to maximize the use of time, create more opportunities for economic growth, diversify economic activities, and better serve the material and spiritual lives of local residents, as well as workers working in the province and tourists. The night-time economy must be an integral part of the economy.
Developing the night-time economy aims to stimulate consumption and tourism development, focusing on the development of cultural, recreational, entertainment, dining, shopping services (markets, shopping areas, etc.), and tourism (visiting tourist destinations, cultural relics, architectural works, etc.) taking place from 6PM the previous evening to 6AM in the next morning. The implementation of this project by 2030 will promote the development of night-time economic activities in Binh Thuan province, transforming Phan Thiet - Mui Ne and other tourist destinations into vibrant and attractive destinations that meet the needs of work, entertainment, shopping, culinary experiences, and night-time living for residents and tourists. This will contribute to the strong development of the service and tourism sectors, truly making it the province’s key economic sector, while also spreading the development to other economic sectors, positively contributing to the socio-economic development and enhancing the province’s position in the region and the country.
In addition to services, there will be various cultural and artistic performances: realistic performances, traditional and contemporary arts, film activities, music programs, light shows, fashion shows, water music, fireworks festivals, costume festivals, parades, street arts. Sports activities, health care, and beauty services will also be provided: organizing sports services, nighttime health care and beauty activities.
At the same time, attracting investment and creating large-scale entertainment areas, night markets, pedestrian streets, shows, bar/nightclub activities; constructing separate and attractive nighttime entertainment complexes; organizing regular festivals, programs, and events; operating casino services and gaming activities at licensed locations.
Nighttime economic development also includes nighttime tourism and entertainment activities, various night tours to explore the city (lasting until 24:00), establishing food streets, seafood markets, beachside bars, pubs, organizing beachside dining spaces… With a multidimensional perspective, the local government aims for an open mindset, recognizing the role, opportunities, and challenges of the night-time economy. Accordingly, the night-time economy should be seen as a significant contribution to economic growth, fully exploiting the potential of tourism, services, shopping, and culinary activities, and promoting the culture and people of Binh Thuan.
The direction for planning the development of the night-time economy will integrate the night-time economy into the content of the Binh Thuan Provincial Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision until 2050. Accordingly, nighttime economic development, if well managed, will contribute significantly to economic growth, fully exploit the potential of tourism, services, shopping, and gastronomy, and contribute to the promotion of culture and the people of Binh Thuan.
