Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien said that the building of new branches of the Hanoi-based Viet Duc and Bach Mai hospitals in Ha Nam province aims to ease overload for central-level hospitals while providing high-quality medical services for the locals.
The Bach Mai hospital's branch, which is designed as a general hospital, has a capacity of 1,000 beds and is capable of providing examinations for approximately 5,000 patients per day.
The branch of Viet Duc hospital also has a capacity of 1,000 beds and can provide examinations services for 3,500 patients per day.
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam valued the operations of the two branches which will create favourable conditions for people from Ha Nam and neighbouring provinces to get access to high-quality medical examination and treatment while reducing overload for central-level hospitals.
The Deputy PM also emphasised the crucial role of doctors in improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, thus, asking for close coordination between the two hospitals and its branches in order to develop the two branches into prestigious hospitals.
The other facilities of the two branches are scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2019.
