NGO to support Binh Thuan to reduce the Tuberculosis mortality rate

BTO – On March 30th morning, the Department of Binh Thuan Health and Binh Thuan Hospital of Tuberculosis (TB) worked with the Central Hospital of Lung and Health Poverty Action (HPA) Organization to deploy the project of “Global Fund for TB prevention in the 2021-2023 period”.

According to the report, the total number of TB patients who received treatment in Binh Thuan is 1,871 persons in 2020. The rate of TB cases accounts for 152 out of 100,000 people. In comparison with 9 provinces in the Southeast region, Binh Thuan was ranked third in the rate of tuberculosis of all genres. The project “Global Fund for TB prevention in the 2021-2023 period” shall intervene in the application of the FAST model to the rise of rates of TB detection rate and successful TB treatment in the community.

Simultaneously, a GeneXpert machine will be delivered to Binh Thuan in favor of testing, diagnosing, and monitoring patients with tuberculosis and drug-resistant tuberculosis in health facilities and the community. Dak Lak and Binh Thuan are selected to participate in the project, with the aim of reducing the TB mortality rate.

At the meeting, representatives of the stakeholders have discussed orientations and methods of project implementation, as well as introduce personnel suitable with the job description in Binh Thuan.

Reportedly, HPA, headquartered in Brittan, is a non-Government Organization (NGO) and is founded in 1984. Its objective is to support the poor, disadvantaged, and ill people. HPA is now conducting its projects in 15 countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin American.
