Former Belgian Ambassador to Vietnam honoured with Friendship Order

Havana (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba on March 16 presented the Friendship Order of the Vietnamese State to Jehanne Roccas, former Belgian Ambassador to Vietnam.

At the hand-over ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Trung Thanh commended efforts of Roccas, who is now Belgian Ambassador to Cuba, in promoting the friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between Vietnam and Belgium during her tenure in Hanoi. 

Roccas contributed to the success of high-level visits between the two countries as well as important cooperation projects such as the Dinh Vu Port in the northern city of Hai Phong. 

For her part, the diplomat thanked the Vietnamese State and people for the noble award, which acknowledges her contributions to the bilateral ties. 

Roccas recalled the time when she worked in Vietnam and stressed potential for a stronger bilateral relationship, not only in politics and economy but also in cooperation development and culture.
