Located about 45km from the center of Phan Thiet city and 25km from Mui Ne (Binh Thuan), Hon Hong (Bac Binh) is one of the attractions that captivates a large number of tourists, coming to participate in the extreme sport of paragliding. It has a mountain over 200 meters high, partially surrounded by a pristine strait, with golden sand dunes in close proximity. Thanks to the open space of high mountains, with gentle slopes and few obstacles, it is very suitable for the sport. During their visits, many tourists are surprised by the majestic beauty of nature here. Looking down from the top of the mountain, visitors will be overwhelmed by the beauty of green vegetation scattered along the mountainside, mixed with sandy beaches which resemble a vast desert.
Mr. Cao Thai Tan, coach of the VNAA Paragliding Training Center said: “According to survey results, Hon Hong has met the prerequisites of paragliding such as take-off ground, open area with no tree, secure landing ground, etc. Remarkably, this area has 2 wind directions and the winds are very stable, which is one of the greatest conditions for paragliding. Therefore, Hon Hong has become one of the ideal places chosen by many paragliding lovers.”
Many people choose to conquer Hon Hong by paragliding partly because of the convenience and gorgeous natural scenery here. With paragliding, players will be able to see the wonderful mountain and sea from an overhead perspective. Not only they can appreciate beautiful sceneries, but also have an opportunity to satisfy their passions.
“With the advantages of Hon Hong, if professional facilities for paragliding are to be further developed, it can serve up to 10 months of flight time annually.”- Mr. Tan added.
According to professional paragliders, Hon Hong in particular and Binh Thuan in general are ideal places for extreme sports lovers to come and experience. This signals a promising development in creating a new tourist attraction in Binh Thuan. It is also compatible with the province's tourism development orientation to 2025 and a vision to 2030 in the area, in which, the variety of tourism products at the destination must be given top priority for development and investment.
