As of March 14th, the whole province has had 9 cases of Sars-CoV-2 infections with 203 cases of F1 who are being isolated at 812; 761 cases of F2 who are being monitored at their home, confirmed Director of the Department of Health Nguyen Quoc Viet.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Hoa, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s committee said that, as the first case showed positive with Sars-CoV-2 was reported (also known as Patient No.34), the province has promptly identified persons who had contacted with the patient and prepared all procedures for isolation. For some reasons, the Patient No.34 has not fully provided her contactors over the previous time. Therefore, the rapid response teams of the health sector, as well as the political organizations have made all efforts to combat with the disease, especially the isolation and prevention works.
At the working session, Binh Thuan has proposed the Ministry of Health to promptly provide a laboratories for the province; give assistance on human resources when the epidemic developments is getting worse. To proactively prevent and control the epidemics effectively, the Department of Health requested the Ministry of Health to provide protective equipment for the preparation of prevention and treatment tasks in the locality.
Deputy Minister Son highly appraised the province’s efforts on the detection, preparation, isolation and localization so that Covid-19 patient-related persons can be identified and isolated timely. He recommended the province to keen on resolution and preventive measures as regulation, suggesting the local Health sector should set up plan to review and distribute human resources and medical equipment from not-yet needed areas to the epicenter.
Deputy Minister Son urged the locality to quickly complete documents and submit proposals to the Ministry for consideration. He assessed the high spirit of the whole political and state systems as well as the people on the fighting against the spread of coronavirus in the locality.
Two streets in Phan Thiet were locked down last Friday after nine people in the area tested Covid-19 positive.Three checkpoints have been erected to restrict entry and exit on Hoang Van Thu and Ngo Si Lien Streets, both in Duc Thang Ward. Around 30 families live in the quarantined area.
