Binh Thuan leaders meet with delegation of SNV Netherlands Development Organization

BTO – On March 2nd, vice chairman of Binh Thuan provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Hoa had a working session with a delegation of SNV Netherlands Development Organization as the delegation is on the way to make a survey trip for the sponsorship of the project “Enhancing the role of women in the economic and agricultural development” in Binh Thuan province.

The delegation led by Mrs. Tu Anh – national director of the SNV Netherlands Development Organization in Vietnam.

At the reception, there were the attendance of leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Investment and Planning, the Farmers’ Association and Women’s Union. Addressing the working session, Hoa welcomed the delegation to Binh Thuan and stressed that the SNV’s selection of Binh Thuan to conduct the above project is an opportunity for the locality to foster its agricultural production in general and to develop genders, heighten the Women’s role in farming production in particular.  Besides, he expected that the Organization will take more interest and support for the province in implementing the project. At the same time, Binh Thuan will co-operate, provide sufficient relevant information as required by the sponsor and investor as long as the project is activated. Moreover, the province will always offer the best favorable conditions for the highest efficiency.

SNV Netherlands Development Organization, reportedly, is a not-for-profit and international organization which was founded and headquartered in the Netherlands. It has been operating actively in Vietnam since 1995. SNV focuses on improving the capacity of local partner organizations, promote internal resources to deploy and perform development activities in respective localities in the fields of job and income creation, improving their access to basic services.

In Vietnam, SNV has gained several achievements on the following programs: developing agricultural value chains, doing business with the poor, mitigating and adapting to climate change, reducing greenhouse gas emission from forest losses and deforestation (REDD), fresh water and sanitation, renewable energy and biogas…
