Accordingly, the whole province has totally 929,109 voters (accounting for 76.26 percent of the province’s population), raising by 100,194 voters compared with the 2011’s election. Phan Thiet city is the leading locality with 176,636 voters (an equivalence to 19 percent of the whole province), followed by Ham Thuan Bac district (130,309 voters), Tuy Phong district (112,610 voters), Bac Binh district (95,943 voters), Duc Linh district (93,444 voters), La Gi town (81,538 voters), Ham Thuan Nam district (79,622 voters), Tanh Linh district (78,740 voters), Ham Tan district (60,864 voters) and Phu Quy island district (19,421 voters).
People’s Committees of districts/town/city have issued their decisions on approving a total of 855 polling stations, including 8 polling stations for people’s armed forces, 1 ones set for detention center. In particular, Tuy Phong will have 74 polling stations, Bac Binh: 108, Ham Thuan Bac: 107, Phan Thiet city: 136, Ham Thuan Nam: 81, Ham Tan: 67, La Gi town: 67, Tanh Linh: 91, Duc Linh: 103, and Phu Quy: 21.
The standing board of the provincial Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front is giving instructions to its affiliates at district/town/city and commune/ward levels to set up concrete plans to create favourable conditions for all candidates to meet with voters to present their action programmes democratically in line with the Law on Election. Electoral campaigns will run from the announcement of official list of candidates until 24 hours ahead of the election day.
