A student of Binh Thuan honoured at the UPU International Letter-Writing Contest 2019

BTO-Department of Information and Communications of Binh Thuan province  lately held an awarding ceremony for  Nguyen Bao Han, a ninth grader of Ham Phu secondary school (Ham Thuan Bac district), who won the prize of “prospective author” at the 48th International Letter-Writing Contest 2019 in Vietnam.

Under the theme “Write a letter to your hero”, the contest has been launched by Universal Postal Union (UPU) from October, 2018 until March, 2019 with the aim to improve literacy through the art of letter-writing, encourage participants to express their creativity and refine their language skill.

The contest in Vietnam was co-organized by Ministry of Information and Communications, Vietnam Post, Ministry of Education & Training, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and Thieu Nien Tien Phong Newspaper, attracted more than one millions entries. The organization board has sellected one first, three second, five third, 30 consolation, 61 “prospective author” and 5 special prizes.  With a letter to student Linh Chi, a 8-year-old limbless girl, like Nick Vujicic, Bao Han became the first student of Binh Thuan winning one of the prizes at this contest.
