Attending the tournament, there are 16 women teams and 17 men teams from cities/provinces of Hai Phong, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, Binh Thuan, Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh city, Can Tho, Kien Giang, Soc Trang and army corp 4. The participated teams are divided into 4 men groups and 6 women groups for selecting the top teams in the quarterfinal, semi-finals and finals round.
The matches took place at two yards at Doi Duong beach area, from July 20-23.

According to the organizers, Phan Thiet owns a very favorable natural conditions for the organization of beach sports, especially beach volley ball. Although this is the first time, the local authorities have prepared all facility conditions well as required by the Vietnam Volleyball Federation. The well-done preparation may not also meet the standards of a national tournament, but also a Asian or World tournament.

Addressing the opening event, Deputy director of the department of Culture-Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Hanh highlighted that: “The National Volleyball Tournament taking place in Phan Thiet city plays a very significant role in promoting the local images in sports as the province targets to be a national tourism and sport center”.
