The latest FIFA rankings saw many changes as a series of international matches
at the national team level took place in Europe early this month within the
framework of the Nations League.
Given that fact, Asian teams also witnessed a slight change in their world
rating despite having played no games. Accordingly, Thailand dropped one place
to 114th in the world, while Park Hang-seo’s Vietnamese side retained their 94th
position with 1,258 points.
In Asia, Vietnam stand at No. 14, six above Thailand. Japan continues to lead
the continent as world No. 28 (1,500 points), followed by world No. 30 Iran
(1,489).
The next FIFA ranking is scheduled to be released on October 22, with shuffles
expected as a series of matches within the frameworks of the Nations League,
the Euro 2020 qualifiers and the South American qualifiers for the 2022 World
Cup is set to take place.
