Receiving the NA working delegation, there were Mr. Duong Van An, Member of the Party Central Committee’s Executive Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly deputies; Mr. Nguyen Hoai Anh, Member of the Party Central Committee’s Standing Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Mr. Doan Anh Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Nguyen Huu Thong, Provincial Party Committee member, Deputy Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly deputies, along with leaders of relevant departments and agencies.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly presented gifts to the Provincial Border Guard Command; the Provincial Military Command; and the Provincial Police.
The delegation visited and extended Lunar New Year wishes to the Provincial Military Command; the Provincial Border Guard Command; the Provincial Police; Thanh Hai Border Post; Naval Region 2; and Mui Ne Border Post. They also visited the storm shelter and boat anchorage at Phu Hai, presenting gifts to 11 boat owners who suffered losses due to a boat fire in December 2023, as well as gifts to 60 poor fishermen, members of the Fishermen’s Association, and poor workers. They also handed over 300 symbolic gifts from the Vietnam Red Cross Society and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to Binh Thuan province.
At Thanh Hai Border Post, the working delegation listened to the representative of the Border Post reporting on the results of border management, territorial protection, and unit construction in 2023, as well as the plans and preparedness for the Lunar New Year 2024 and the effective implementation of support for fishermen. They also discussed the timely deployment of tasks to protect major political events of the Party and the State in the area.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Nguyen Duc Hai, also expressed joy at the development of Binh Thuan in recent years. In 2023, despite facing many difficulties, the province’s socio-economic situation has shown signs of recovery and good development. In 2024, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly hopes that the Party, government, and people of Binh Thuan will continue to unite, leverage the achievements attained, and focus on better caring for the economic and cultural lives of the people, especially those in policy families, poor households, near-poor households, and workers in industrial zones.

The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly also noted that Binh Thuan has nearly 200 kilometers of coastline and is a major fishing center in the country, with a large fleet of fishing vessels. Along with its strategic geographical location and vibrant developing economy, the Border Guard forces in Binh Thuan must pay more attention to ensuring maritime border security and safety, supporting fishermen in their fishing activities, helping them effectively engage in coastal economic activities, and complying with maritime laws and regulations. They should also effectively control fishing vessels, ensure livelihoods for fishermen, and contribute to the political security and socio-economic development of the province.

During his visits, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai affirmed that the Party and State always care for policy families, poor households, and those in difficult circumstances, especially during the festive season. These small gifts during this occasion reflect our affection and sharing, with the desire for everyone to have a warm, joyful, safe, and happy Tet holiday, and to ensure that no one is left without a Tet celebration.

During the exchange with fishermen, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly expressed his hope that the fishermen would soon overcome the difficulties caused by the fire incident, which resulted in significant damage to their property. He encouraged them to continue their fishing activities, hold onto the sea and fishing grounds, and steadfastly defend the sovereignty of the sea and islands. Particularly, he emphasized the importance of sustainable exploitation of marine resources in compliance with anti-IUU (Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated) fishing regulations. He also urged everyone to work together to address the concerns raised by the European Commission (EC) and remove the “yellow card” status, ultimately contributing to the prosperity of our homeland.
