VFF urged to actively mobilise people to promote solidarity and realise Party’s Resolution

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong made the statement while addressing an online national conference held by the VFF on August 16, launching the action plans of the front and member organisations to implement the 13th National Party Congress’ Resolution.

The event also drew the attendance of Politburo members: President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, and standing member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Vo Van Thuong, along with incumbent and former Party, State, VFF leaders, representatives from ministries, sectors, central agencies and about 2,000 delegates from 63 provinces and cities nationwide.

In his speech, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong asked the VFF and its member organisations to better perform their key role in building the national great unity bloc, sticking to the goal of national independence and socialism, and resolutely safeguarding national independence and sovereignty, thus maintaining socio-political stability for national construction.

More attention should be paid to developing the worker class in both number and quality, while promoting the role of farmers and building the contingent of intellectuals and boosting the growth of entrepreneurs; in addition to strengthening the education of the youth on revolutionary ideology, ethics and cultured lifestyle, enhancing the quality of female human resources, promoting the socio-political supportive spirit of war veterans and retired police officers, and optimising the experience of senior citizens, he noted.

The Party chief also urged the VFF and member organisations as well as people from all walks of life to unite and engage in COVID-19 prevention and control.

Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and President of the VFF Central Committee Do Van Chien said that VFF and its member organisations have built their own plans with detailed tasks and targets in order to realise the Resolution.

The conference was not only held to implement an action plan to realise the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress but was also a vivid symbol expressing the spirit of the great national unity bloc, turning determination into concrete action, he said, adding that the VFF will in the immediate future respond to the call made by the Party General Secretary to unite and join all forces to repel the COVID-19 pandemic.
