Through this event, visitors had chance to learn about the old Tet atmosphere of Vietnamese people, with many unique cultural characteristics, including the tradition of asking for lucky words from elderly scholar, a popular custom in Vietnam during Tet called calligraphy. Wrapping and cooking “banh chung” and “banh tet” (square and cylindrical glutinous rice cakes) were among interesting activities that attracted the participation of numerous tourists. There is a corner for those who like enjoying tea along with a lot of cookies and candied fruits made for Tet season.
In addition, at a BBQ party with the themed “Tet of Family Reunion- Lunar New Year-year of the Rat”, visitors ejoyed the most popular traditional meals for Tet, such as: banh chung, banh tet, pickled onions, pickled small leeks, dried bamboo shoots stew with pork…, beside many specialities imbued with cultural charactersitics of the coastal city.
Especialy, Spring songs were performed by young singers also contributed to the jubilant atmosphere of Tet.
