In his message, the State leader quoted the President Ho Chi Minh's words which underscored that the nucleus of society is the family and great importance should be attached to building good families in order to build socialism.
Childhood and the love for the Fatherland is nurtured in each family and also provides spiritual support for each person. Vietnamese Family Day is also a holiday honouring family values, an important milestone for Vietnamese people to look back to their roots and loved ones, thereby nurturing good feelings and the noble traditional cultural values of the nation.
From the past to the present, when the country has war or is at peace, the family has always been an important part of the society, a solid foundation contributing to the national strength. The Party, State and people are always respectful, grateful and give deep gratitude to the families who have contributed and sacrificed for the Fatherland.
In the new stage of development, the family still plays a central role in the socio-economic life of Vietnamese people. The family is still the place to connect and unite generations, preserve and promote the standards, values and quintessence of the national culture, and is the source of strength for the great unity bloc of the nation. It is the safest and most solid house for each person in the face of difficulties and risks in life.
In the context of the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam, many officials, doctors and soldiers did not mind the hardships and dangers in entering the epidemic hot spots. It is the family who has always been the fulcrum, faith, and encouragement for them to overcome difficulties and complete their tasks. Many families have supported and joined hands with the Party, State and the whole political system to prevent and control the epidemic, so that Vietnam can become a bright spot which is recognised and appreciated by friends around the world.
On this occasion, State President Nguyen Xuan Phucwarmly commended party committees, branches, localities, organisations and individuals across the country, and the Vietnamese community abroad for having taken many positive acts in response to patriotic movements, contributing to building a happy, progressive and sustainable Vietnamese family.
The State leader asked all levels of Party committees, authorities, units and localities to continue to strictly and effectively implement the guidelines of the Party and State on family work, especially family development, enhancing the role of the family in nurturing and educating the young generation, preserving and promoting the traditional identity, cultural values and fine standards of Vietnamese families in the new period of the country; pay attention to policy beneficiary families, families of people with meritorious services, care about the elderly; and well implement social security, especially families living in difficult circumstance and remote and far-flung areas, thus contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, and building a warm, happy, progressive and civilised Vietnamese families.
