Second Binh Thuan- Green Convergence to be postponed until December

BTO- Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Hoa lately hosted a meeting with leaders of functional departments and Phan Thiet City over the organization plans of the 2nd Binh Thuan-Green Convergence 2020.

At the meeting

As previous plan, the 2nd  “Binh Thuan-Green Convergence” , which consists of a series of cultural, sporting and tourism activities, was scheduled for April 18-21, 2020 in Phan thiet city. It is considered as a major event of Binh Thuan province to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Binh Thuan’s Liberation Day (April 19), Unification Day (April 30), welcome the Party congresses at all levels towards the 13th National Party Congress, mark the 25th anniversary of Binh Thuan Tourism Day (October 24).

Due to the outbreak of novel coronavirus (Covid-19), authorities and units have been engaged in efforts to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has suggested to adjust the plan, with 3 following options:

-Option 1: August 28-31: in celebration of the National Day (December 2).

-Option 2: October 23-26: in celebration of 25 years of Binh Thuan Tourism Day (October 24).

-Option 3: December 24-27: welcoming the New Year 2021.

After discussions at the meeting, Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Hoa and leaders of departments, agencies agreed to choose option 3 (organize the Binh Thuan-Green Convergence 2020” in December). Mr. Hoa asked relevant agencies to hold activities to mark Binh Thuan’s Liberation Day (April 19) and the Unification Day (April 30) depending on real situation and the development of coronavirus prevention work in the locality. The organization board should build simple celebration programs to ensure the safety and effectiveness.
