As of now, the campaign “One million national flags together with fishermen clinging to the sea”, which was launched by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper in 2019, has awarded 777,220 national flags to fishermen in 22 coastal provinces/cities and a number of provinces with terrestrial borderlines. This meaningful activity has been deeply pervading in the community to call the whole people unite and join hands to preserve national sovereignty over the sacred sea, islands and the continental shelf of the Fatherland.
Addressing the handing over ceremony, Vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committtee Nguyen Minh expressed thankfulness to Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper for launching and keeping this practical program over the past 3 years. He stressed that the campaign has helped fishermen in particular and residents in Binh Thuan province in general to improve their awareness of responsibility for protecting national sovereignty over sea and islands.
