The filming staff of the Hollywood movie ‘Kong: Skull Island’ shot its first scenes in the northern province of Ninh Binh on February 27.
They will shoot scenes in the world cultural and natural heritage site Trang An Complex and Tam Coc- Bich Dong caves in Hoa Lu district, and Van Long ecological tourism area in Gia Vien district.
On March 15, the film crew is scheduled to leave Ninh Binh for Ha Long Bay, a Natural World Heritage site in Quang Ninh province, to prepare for other shoots.
Earlier, central Quang Binh province permitted the production crew to access numerous locations for the filming of the movie.
‘Kong: Skull Island’ is an upcoming American thriller film produced by Legendary Pictures and directed by Jordan Vogt Robert.
The movie is the story about a group of explorers who venture into the jungle to discover the birthplace of the lord of the giant apes.
Vietnam is one of the three destinations selected for shooting the film, in addition to Hawaii and Australia, due to its rugged terrain and superb natural scenery.
The films cast include Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Toby Kebbell, John Ortiz, Corey Hawkins, John C Reilly, Tom Wilkison, Thomas Mann, John Goodman, and Samuel L Jackson.
The blockbuster is due to be screened in cinemas on March 10, 2017.
