It is reported that Mr. Xuyen, in an attempt to preserve a rare marine species and protect the ecosystem, paid a local fisherman VND 3.5 million for this sea turtle (Chelonia mydas), when the fisherman took it from his fishing net nearby Ca Ty river on the same day.

Green sea turtle-Chelonia mydas is an aquatic species listed in endangered or threatened under the Red book of Vietnam for preservation. All action of catching and killing this marine species are banned and punished in accordance with the laws.
