Binh Thuan launched campaign “Let’s clean up the ocean”

The event, which was co-organized by the provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Branch and TMS Group Join Stock Company, had the attendance of standing deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Huynh Thanh Canh, leaders of departments/branches/agencies, as well as more than 1,000 youth union members representing Binh Thuan Youth.

This campaign is a propagation activity to raise awareness of young generations and the whole community about the importance of living environment and the oceans to human’s life, and call upon the whole people to join hands in taking actions in preservation of natural environment in general and marine environment in particular.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hoai Trung- deputy secretary of the provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Branch emphasized that protecting marine environment is a very important task in the world in general and in Vietnam in particular in the current time. Binh Thuan youth participate in this campaign to show their determination to join activities in preservation of natural environment in response to climate change. He called local youth to actively protect the environment with simple and practical actions such as: cleaning up the environment, not throwing rubbish into the ocean and public areas, saying no to plastic bags to minimize plastic waste…

After the launching ceremony, thousands of youth took part in a series of activities, including a parade to disseminate the message to the whole community, a photo exhibition “The harm of plastic waste to the ocean”, and a festive day for recycling activities themed “The second journey of tire”.

On that ocassion, the provincial Ho Chi minh communist Youth union Branch also held the awarding ceremony for the photo contest themed “For an environment without  plastic waste”.
