Binh Thuan to step up management on trading, consumption of wild animals and release of invasive alien species

BTO-Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee lately promulgated a document asking departments, branches, agencies and social-political organizations to accelerate the management of trading and consumption of endangered wild animals as well as release of invasive alien species.

Accordingly, heads of the provincial agencies are requested to direct their officers and employees to strictly implement laws and regulations on preserving biodiversity, especially widlife, rare species in the lists of endangered plants and animals that need to be protected. Authorized agencies and organizations must take responsibility for mobilizing officers and citizens not to buy, sell, use, give or receive gifts that contain endangered wild animals and products made from them; and not to release invasive alien species into the environment.

Functional bodies are asked to join hands in taking inspections in businessesand strictly handling with violations relating to the protection of wildlife and release of invasive alien species. The provincial People’s Committee also directed authorities of all levels to intensify propaganda on preserving biodiversity, wildlife and endangered animals; boosting the management on trading and releasing invasive alien species.
