Programs to bringTet gifts to blind, disadvantaged children

BTO- The provincial Committee for Vietnam Fatherland Front in partnership with department of Labour-Invalids and Social Affairs on January 23 set up a team to visit and give Tet gifts to needy people who are under social protection  in Phan Thiet city.

As many as 235 gifts (VND 500,000 in cash) were presented to orphans, children with disabilities and elderly people living in Compassion School, Huynh De (Brothers’ Home, Thien Phuoc social protection facility and orphans’ house Mai Nha.The total fund for the gifts (over VND 100 million) is sourced from the provincial Fund for the Poor.

As reported, the total 947 Tet gifts that will be given to disadvantaged people in 15 social protection locations in Binh Thuan to celebrate Lunar New Year  festival is 947.

On the same day, the provincial Blind Association held a special program under the theme “Spring Tree for the Blind” with the purpose of presenting practical gifts to blind people ahead of the Lunar New Year festival.

At the event, representatives of departments, organizations, philanthropists gave members of Blind Association hundreds of meaningful gifts, including instant noodles, cooking oil, rice and even money. The gifts are considered as an encouragement for blind people to welcome a cozy and happy new year festival 2019.
