The flags, worth totally nearly VND 100 million, are meaningful gifts donated by party cells and committees directly under the Party Committee of the provincial agencies’ bloc.
Covering nearly 200 square meters, the national flagpole on Phu Quy island was built in 2015 in Trieu Duong hamlet, Tam Thanh commune. The 22.6 meter-tall flagpole has a 4x6 meter-flag that made from solid textile fabric to adapt strong sea breeze. However, the flag couldn’t stand long time wind and it must be replaced with a new one after 5-7 days. The presented flags are practical gifts to keep the availability of flags for the flagpole here. They are considered as deep affection of cadres in the mainland to the outpost island of Binh Thuan province, contributing to encouraging officials, soldiers and the islanders to maintain their determination in building and protect national sovereignty over sea and islands.
