BTO- An interdisciplinary delegation has visited and surveyed the coastal landslide situation in Thuan Thanh hamlet, Thuan Quy Commune, Ham Thuan Nam district. The delegation included the provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue, department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Finance.

Accordingly, the delegation has conducted a fact-finding tour around the coastal areas in risk of landslide. At the visited spot, the delegates found that the protected fence, which is 50m near Sai Gon - Suoi Nhung resort, was blown off. Similarly, the Aloha resort is also facing the same situation due to the impact of coastal erosion.

At first, the delegation proposed the People’s committee of Ham Thuan Nam district to urge its subordinate Thuan Quy commune in coordination with the owners of tourist sites to monitor and reinforce the dyke if necessary. Otherwise, it needs a planning adjustment for embankment construction to protect the coastal areas and fight against erosion for a long-term solution.

As known, the coastal landslide has triggered in many localities of Binh Thuan province since before Lunar New Year 2018, In which, Tien Duc hamlet, Tien Thanh commune and some tourist areas of Ham Tien – Mui Ne are suffering heavily from the fierce flood tide.
