Youth gathered for 2018  Earth Hour campaign

BTO – The light-off event of 2018 Earth Hour campaign in Binh Thuan took place at the Vo Van Kiet Park-Phan Thiet City on Sartuday night (March 240, with the participation of 500 youth union members.

Switch-off ritual to begin Earth Hour 2018

The celebration was co-organized by Binh Thuan Electricity Company and the provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Branch. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Le Hoai Trung - deputy Secretary of the provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union branch stressed that Earth Hour is not only a campaign for people to save energy by turning off lights and other electrical devices in one hour, but also an occasion to raise public awareness of taking actions to deal with climate change. He asked Youth Union members and youth to keep on disseminating the campaign’s message among the community as well as learn more about climate change and how to cope with it.

After the ceremony, lights were switched off around Vo Van Kiet Park and along the downtown of Nguyen Tat Thanh Avenue, Tran Hung Dao street, Thu Khoa Huan street, Ba Trieu street, Trung Trac street, Ton Duc Thang Avenue… Hundreds of youth union members lit candles while enjoying the art show performed by students from many schools in Phan Thiet city.
