As of now, the district has planted 936 hectares of forest, attaining 247.62 percent over the year’s target and posting only 84.4 percent year-on-year. Due to few land used for afforesting, this year’s afforestation shrunk down by 200 hectares. The total forest area, which is under taken care by the district, is 277 hectares.
As known, Ham Tan is the locality in the province which pays much attention to the forest protection and management. 2 violations have been found and punished, worth VND 9 million, seized 0.381 cubic meter of sawn timber and 0.433 cubic meter of round timber and other transport means.
