Stranded foreign vessel successfully rescued

BTO – At around 2:05’ AM on July 2nd morning, the stranded CHEMROAD JOURNEY was pulled out of the depleted area and was towed toward Phu Quy island at 9:30AM on the same day for inspection and related matters after three-week trouble (from June 10th to July 7th).

Reportedly, the transfer of about 8,000 tons of chemicals from CHEMROAD JOURNEY to chemical-specialized SUN MERCURY has successfully finished in the afternoon of July 1st, without any risks of chemical spills or leaks in the sea environment.

The rescue work had the participation of Vietnam National committee for search and rescue and relevant bodies in Binh Thuan province. The attempt has finally succeeded, helping the vessel run aground and regain is balance thanks to favorable weather condition and efforts of the rescuers.
