BTO- A rare sea turtle weighing about 70 kilos was successfully rescued from a seawater recirculation tank in Vinh Tan 2 Thermal Power plant (Vinh Tan commune-Tuy Phong district) on Friday afternoon (July 21).

Earlier, local fishermen spotted a marine turtle lost in the recirculating seawater system that connects the Vinh Tan 2 Thermal Power Plant with the open sea. The managing board of Hon Cau Marine Protected Area immediately sent a rescue team to the site to take the sea turtle to the unit for care. At the time of being rescued, the sea turtle seemed to get sick because its eyes looked red. After being cared by the staff of Hon cau MPA, the animal was put into natural environment on the next day.
