First turbine of Phu Lac Wind Power Plant connected to national power grid ahead of deadline

BTO – On the first day of September, Phu Lac Wind Power Plant, located in Tuy Phong district, successfully put its first turbine into operation and connected with the national power grid. Phu Lac Wind Power Plant, in its first phase, has a total capacity of 24MW which use the technology of Denmark-based Vestas brand with 12 piers. The project has a total investment of nearly VND 1,100 billion, including 85 percent of loans from KfW Bank (also known as Germany Development bank). This is the first project that Binh Thuan wind power Joint Stock Company borrowed with interest from Denmark via KfW Bank.

At about 2:00AM on September 1st, the first turbine was operated and generated electricity. After going through Phu Lac transformer station, the power source was officially connected with the 110KV Ninh Phuoc-Tuy Phong transmission line of the national power grid, supplying additional power for Binh Thuan province and the southern provinces.

After completing all the installation, testing and connection, Phu Lac Wind Power Plant officially contributed clean energy to the national power grid system. Reportedly, the 1st-phase project of Phu Lac is completed 15 days earlier than the contract. Phu Lac Wind Power Plant is the fourth of its kinds across the country and the third wind power plants in Binh Thuan, which is put into operation formally.
