BTO- The provincial People’s Committee of Binh Thuan province has recently issued a document to inform concerning bodies about Rang Dong JSC’s proposal of shutting down Phu Hai Toll Station from January 1st, 2017 onwards.

As reported, Phu Hai Bridge was built by Rang Dong JSC under the BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) in line with the permission of Binh Thuan provincial People’s Committee with a tool booth set up to operate from May, 2004 to October, 2021. The unit is allowed to increase toll fee every 5 year-period with less than 10 percent of its previous fee. But now Rang Dong JSC has suggested to close the booth nearly 4 years ahead of schedule in order to facilitate tourist attraction, because Phu Hai Toll Station is located on the way leading to Mui Ne, the resort capital of Vietnam.

On January 1st, 2017, the company will remove all construction works to restore the original ground. In return, it wants the use of the land plot, where the station’s managing board is situated, to be allocated to the company as a compensation.

The construction of traffic route from Hung Vuong Avenue to Nguyen Thong street has not been fully completed but it is attracting numerous vehicles travelling to Mui Ne and return everyday. The section road from Hung Vuong Bridge to the roundabout of Vo Nguyen Giap street is expected to be expanded to prevent increasing traffic congestion caused by a large number of vehicles.
