According to domestic travel firms, they have so far nearly completed their sale
plans for the upcoming nine-day Tet holiday, with customers mostly young
families.
This year, their sales are estimated to increase 30 percent over the same time
in 2018, with tours combining hotel bookings and entertainment tickets a big
hit.
The most popular domestic destinations during the holiday include warm areas in
the central and southern region such as Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Da Nang and Hoi An.
This year, a large number of foreign tours have been booked, mostly to Japan,
the Republic of Korea, Taiwan (China) and China, along with other destinations
such as Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Bhutan and India.
Vietravel Hanoi Vice Director Pham Van Bay said this year, the prices of tours
have been kept unchanged or only increased slightly.
He said that since November 2018, the company has offered more than 300 domestic
and foreign Tet tours to increase choices for customers.
Diverse promotion programmes have been offered by travel firms. Saigontourist
has launched a “golden week” with 10 million VND discounts for long tours
abroad, or a reduction of 500,000 VND for each customer for Tet tours.
Meanwhile, HanoiRedtours has designed special tours targeting youngsters and
office workers with easy routes through famous destinations at home and abroad.
At the same time, customers of Fiditour will receive total promotion value of up
to 4 million VND until January 25.
To ensure safety for travellers abroad, travel firms advised them to be
well-prepared for their tours and strictly abide by the law of the host country
and follow guidance of tour guides.
