Accordingly, Mui Ne National Tourism site has a total area of 14,760 hectares, stretching from Hoa Phu commune (Tuy Phong) to Phu Hai ward (Phan Thiet city). In which, an area of 1,000 ha is defined as a key area for the establishment and development of functional areas for tourism sector. Especially, Mui Ne tourism site will be exploited towards green growth with the purpose of preserving natural environment and ecosystem in Bau Trang and Bau Sen tourist areas (Hoa Thang) as well as sand dunes along the seashore. The development plan of this national tourist area will focus on promoting tourism products’ quality, effectiveness and diversity. With an effective exploitation of potential and advantages on sea-realated tourism forms, historical-cultural relics of the Cham ethnic people, beautiful and unique landscapes such as flying sand hills, Mui Ne National Tourism will become a tourism center with high-quality tourist accommodationsand services. On the other hand, tourism connection in the South Central and South Eastern regions is also an important targets to the development of Mui Ne tourism. Community-based tourism will be encouraged to improve residents’ sustainable livelihood. The plan is expected to turn Mui Ne into one of the best places to visit in Asia-Pacific in 2030.
Under the newly-approved plan, Binh Thuan will receive as many as 9 million turns of tourists in 2025 and 15 million in 2030. The target tourism revenue is VND 24 trillion in 2025 and VND 50 trillion in 2030, with 45,000 people getting jobs in 2030.
4 main areas of Mui Ne National Tourism site will be formed along the coastal area from Hoa Phu to Phu Hai, and beautiful landscapes in these areas will be protected. Binh Thuan will intensify promotional activities to link the tourism triangle between Binh Thuan, Lam Dong and Ho Chi Minh City with a regional product chain “Phan Thiet beach-Da Lat flower-Sai Gon market”.
Besides, Prime Minister’’s decision also requires Binh Thuan authorities to invest in the development of trade and cuisine services, especially te establishment of on Rom recreational centre and beach playgrounds. In addition to the upgradation of Phan Thiet airport to receive more international visitors, local government will work with airlines to open international direct routes to connect other cities with key destinations of Mui Ne National Tourism Area. More roads leading to the sea and public beaches are expected to be opened.
