BTO-  On August 19th morning, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam and his brother-in-law Nguyen Ngoc Truong (Long Hai commune - Phu Quy district) went fishing at Egg Isle (Hon Trung) , about 5 nautical miles from Phu Quy island.

On the way back home from a fishing journey, the two men accidentally discovered two sea turtles were stuck in a floating net in the sea. Those turtles might have died if the two men did not save them in time.

These men quickly saved two turtles. According to Mr. Tam, two sea turtles include an 8-kilogram tortoise and a 5-kg Pacific Ridley Sea Turtle. Two of them were stuck in the net and could not get out by themselves. After the fishermen cut the net, they checked the turtles and released them back to the sea.

It is known that the two turtles are rare animals and are in danger of extinction. The local government recently propagated extensively to fishermen in coastal areas to ban catching this species because it is on the list of endangered rare species. At the same time, people should join hands to protect the marine environment, not litter in the sea. It is necessary to limit the action of making turtles get stuck in nets or eat plastic, leading to many turtle deaths.
