Tourism promotion for an image of popular destination

BTO – Binh Thuan, a locality with various advantages in tourism and human culture, has become an all-year-round busy destination, regardless of the time of the year.

The image and tradename of Binh Thuan tourism have been built up and promoted thanks to great effort of the whole sector. In the first half of 2013, Binh Thuan’s Tourism Promotion Information Center paid attention to carrying out a lot of activities to upgrade Binh Thuan tourism trade-name. Specifically, in the first half of 2013, Binh Thuan tourism actively involved in several travel events such as: Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival 2013, International Sea Travel Expo (ISTE) Nha Trang- Khanh Hoa 2013, Tourism Promotion Seminar - Ha Noi.

Particularly, the most useful activity that has created long-term effect on tourism promotion is making TV programs to foster Binh Thuan Tourism’s images. From the beginning of 2013 until now, local tourism sector in coordination with Vietnam Television Center in Ho Chi Minh City (VTV9 Channel) carried out 4 filming stages for the film series “Binh Thuan-Pearl in sand”, which is expected to be broadcasted on Vietnam Television (VTV). The province’s authorities also gave practical supports and instructions to foreign film crews to take filming for TV shows in Binh Thuan.

Some well-known Media Companies such as: SBS TV (South Korea), Temjin TV Productions Co.Ltd (Japan)… have come to Binh Thuan to perform reality TV shows presenting Vietnamese culture and people. Binh Thuan’s tourism authorities have collaborated with Vietnam Travel Magazine to promote local tourism, and produce a TV program featuring Binh Thuan’s Tourism potential (the program was undertaken by Dien Quan Media Co., Ltd and broadcasted on HTV7 channel-Ho Chi Minh City Television).

To keep with the trend of sea-island travel, Binh Thuan’s Tourism Promotion Information Center has focused on promoting and spreading tourism potential of Phu Quy island district, as well as propagating traditional travel events of Binh Thuan, especially, the ceremony of “Lying Buddha statue in Ta Cu mountain” recognized as Asian record. With the activities above, the image of Binh Thuan tourism has been promoted through its landscapes and tourist attractions, contributing to enriching the tours for visitors.

In forthcoming time, Binh Thuan’s Tourism Promotion Information Center will encourage local travel businesses to join in International Travel Expo –  ITE HCMC 2013 (scheduled for September-2013). After that, the center will welcome an International FAM trip delegation to visit Binh Thuan on the occasion of Binh Thuan Tourism Day (November 24). Binh Thuan tourism will be promoted in other provinces, namely Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong and Ba Ria-Vung Tau. With great effort of the whole sector, Binh Thuan tourism is moving to the targets of 2013. The results of the past six months shows that, Binh Thuan totally welcomed over 1,755,000 turns of visitors (completing more than 50 percent of the year plan) with a turnover of nearly VND 2,624 billion (compared to VND 5,000 billion planned for the whole year).
