Press Conference on Mui Ne Dunes Marathon 2020 Prize

BTO – A press conference to announce the Mui Ne Dunes Marathon 2020 took place on Thursday morning (November 12th) at Victoria Resort (Phan Thiet city). Accordingly, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will coordinate with Phan Thiet Tourism Village One Member Limited Company to organize this sporting event on December 6th, 2020.

This is the first of its kind event in the province. Its route starts from Nguyen Thong Street, heading towards Vo Nguyen Giap, Ho Quang Canh and Nguyen Dinh Chieu streets. The runner can participate in different distance of 5Kilometers, 10 kilometres and 21 kilometres for both male and female. The race will ends in three different locations depending on each racing distance.

Mr. Anton Bespalow – Deputy Head of the Organizing board stated that: Until now, there are over 300 athletes registering for the race. However, the Jury expects a higher figure with around 500 athletes for this first prize.

Besides hosting the Mui Ne Dunes Marathon 2020, there will be many activities to welcome visitors, clean up the environment, and hold other sporting events such as: Volley balls, tennis, Kayak, etc. All the Mui Ne Dunes Marathon 2020’s admission will be sent to the people in the natural disaster-triggered Central region.

It is expected that the Mui Ne Dunes Marathon 2020 will help promote the Binh Thuan’s friendly image to domestic and foreign tourists. Among 300 registered athletes, about 23 percent of foreign visitors wish to participate in the event in support of the noble meaning of sport prizes.

This is the first semi-professional Marathon prize held in the province with the meaning of raising fund for the athletes, according to Mr. Huynh Ngoc Tam – deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
