The event has attracted around 1,700 runners who represent for leaders of localities, armed forces, cadres, civil servants, health staffs, students and people from all walks of life.
As for the Cross-country tournament, there were 85 runners from 11 units across the province to compete in 2 categories for Men (5,000 meters) and Women (3,000 meters). After an hour, female runner Nguyen Thi Kim Thuy (Tuy Phong) won the first prize, followed by Ngo Thi Nguyen (Tuy Phong) and Huynh Thi My Ngoc (Ham Thuan Nam) in the category for Women. In the meantime, Nguyen Van Duy (Phan Thiet) was placed first, followed by Nguyen Van Trung (Tanh Linh) and Tong Phuoc Luan (Tuy Phong). The first prize for the best whole-team belongs to Tuy Phong district, followed by Phan Thiet city and Ham Thuan Nam district.
The Olympic Run Day aims to encourage people to do physical exercise regularly to stay fit and healthy.
