After the opening ceremony, the Cham people joined the costume procession of Po Sah Inu goddess to the main tower, one of the most important rituals of Kate festival.
This year’s festival was celebrated in full swing on Po Sah Inu Cham heritage Tower, beginning witha procession of Po Sah Inu Goddess costumes, followed by traditional rituals and dances with Gi Nang drums and Saranai trumpets. The event recalled the participants and attendees unique tradition of the Cham community through various cultural activities, including: art shows, custom displays, culinary and writing competition.
Those activities aim to mark the Kate festival with traditional rituals to remember their ancestor, while praying for good weather, abundant crops and long, healthy lives.
Tourist Fenix from Hong Kong expressed his surprise at the special festival of Kate as he visited the place for his first time, showing his interest in the costume, music and ginger-shaped cake of the Cham people. He expected to return and visit the place for another time.
