International visitors competed in wrapping Chung Cake

BTO – On January 11th morning, as many as 200 foreign visitors attended the 7th Chung Cake festival hosted by the Cliff Resort & Residences in Phan Thiet city. Chung cake (sticky rice cake) is known as traditional cake for the Lunar New Year of the Vietnamese people. 

At the festival

At the festival, various display stalls retraced through the old-aged and friendly sceneries, such as: Calligraphy, Five-fruits tray, Tet cakes, parallel sentences, thatched cottages, leaf roof, etc. Besides, tourists could also join a variety of Vietnamese folk games. The festival aims to offer international tourists an awesome experience of Vietnamese Tet celebration.

The event triggered eventfully and excitingly as some 40 families of foreigners in Vietnamese traditional costume competed in wrapping “Chung”cake with prepared materials. After 30 minutes, the jury announced 3 outstanding families with their good-looking cake package. All the cake shall be cooked and served for visitors at the festival.

This annual festival is regarded as a healthy playground for domestic and international tourists in the hope of bringing their best experience when visiting Phan Thiet – Mui Ne on those days.
