Chefs in competition to welcome Binh Thuan Tourism Day

BTO – The provincial department of Culture, Sports and Tourism lately organized a competition for chefs of resorts, restaurants and other travel facilities in the province.

This competition, which took place at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, is part of series of activities to celebrate the 24th anniversary of Binh Thuan Tourism Day (October 24). At the event, 11 special dishes were made and introduced by 15 professional chefs from tourism enterprises in Phan Thiet city, as follows: Sea Links City, Ocean Dunes Resorts, Hong Ngoc Resort & Spa, Muine Bay Resort, Saigon-Muine Resort, Blue Ocean Resort, Poshanu Resorts, Ca Ty Hotel, Lao Nong Vegan Restaurant …

The contestants performed their culinary skills through cooking and decorating many dishes with specific flavour of the coastal region. In particular, chef from Blue Ocean resort introduced a dish named “Blue Ocean Dragon”, which made from lobster while the Saigon Muine Resort brought the contest two scpecial dishes: “Spring rolls with fish and potato plus dragon fruit sauce” and “cake made from scallop and meat of crab with sauce of red artichoke”. Chef of Hoang Ngoc Resort cooked “Herring salad with fresh copra” at the contest while the contestants from Sea Links City introduced “sauté parrotfish with sauce made from mantis shrimp”. Especially, chef from Lao Nong vegan restaurant carefully a special dish named “A hotspot made from the heart”.

This contest is considered as a forum for professional chefs to get together and exchange experiences in preserving and creating tasty meals to promote Binh Thuan Tourism. The result of this contest is expected to be announced ahead of October 24.
