BTO- Department of Fine Arts-Photography and Exhibition (directly under the Ministry of Culture-Sports and Tourism) recently held a ceremony to open exhibition and reward the winning artworks of the photo contest themed “Discovering Vietnam’s Beauty”.
The contest has been organized within the National Tourism Promotion Program 2015 in search for photos reflecting the discovery of hidden beauties of Vietnam through natural landscapes, traditional culture, people, as well as the unique and diverse culinary arts. This photo contest aims at creating new speciality to attract more and more domestic and international tourists to visit and behold the beauties of Vietnam.
After two months of launching, the contest attracted 4,237 entries of 962 photographers from 62 provinces and cities in Vietnam and the countries of Italy and South Korea. Among the best 100 entries chosen to be on display from January 6-13, 2016, 11 photos received the first, second, third and consolation prizes.
In particular, the only first prize went to the picture named “Discover for the preservation of the coral reefs” by photographer Pham Van Thanh from Binh Thuan province. Two second prizes were presented to photos “The festive day in Trang An” of Tran Bao Hoa (Dak Lak province) and “Trying to make banh da (rice cake)” of Pham Huy Dang (KonTum province).Three third prizes belong to photographers Dang Ke Cuong (Quang Nam) with the photo “On the river of homeland”, Vu Ngoc Hoang (Khanh Hoa) with photo “The sea flower”, and Ngo Duc Can (Ho Chi Minh city) with photo “Learning”.
According the organizers, all chosen photos follow the aforesaid topic of the contest for the purpose of introducing Vietnam Tourism to international tourists.
