Vietnam sent 154 athletes to the event. Accordingly, “golden girl” Nguyen Thi Le Kim and her team-mates earned 1 gold medal in the collective poomsae events while Nguyen Thi Kim Ha won a silver and a bronze medal.
This event is a warm-up for sports teams of Asean countries to prepare for the 30th South East Asian Games (Sea Games), which is expected to be held in the Philippines later this year. The Taekwondo medals have contributed to the achievements of Binh Thuan sports in 2019.
