The 9-day tournament, which was held in National Sports Training Center-Ho Chi Minh city from June 28 to July 7, attracted 580 young judo athletes from 25 provinces/cities and sectors nationwide.
The contestants were divided in 4 groups of age (10-11, 12-13, 14-16 and 16-19) to compete for 70 sets of medals. Eventually, the Army’s judo team came out on top with 12 gold, 7 silver and 10 bronze medals, followed by Ho Chi Minh city (10 gold, 12 silver and 25 bronze medals), and Tra Vinh (9 gold, 1 silver and 5 bronze medals). Binh Thuan’s athletes won 3 gold, 3 silver and 7 bronze medals.
