Lau tha (a special hotpot made from fresh seafood), half-dried squid, fish sauce (manufactured by Phan Thiet fish sauce corporation), dragon fruit wine Tazno, and Kim Hai dried dragon fruit chip are 5 specific and advantageous products of Binh Thuan province to be listed in 100 special dishes and food gifts of Vietnam. Binh Thuan is among few localities among 63 provinces and municipalities nationwide have more than 3 products honored in the list. Most of localities have 1-3 products choosen in the list. This means Binh Thuan has a diversified cuisine. Effective exploitation and good promotion will help those products become attractive products for tourism development.
According to representative of Vietkings, specialties selected must meet key criteria of reflecting the diversity of Vietnamese cuisine.
