The contest has attracted the participation of more than 300 clubs from Da Nang to Ca Mau provinces. All participants carefully selected and took with them hundreds of pots of Cattleya, wild and synthetic orchids to the contest site in Phan Thiet Ocean Dune hotel.
Reportedly, the criteria for assessing a beautiful orchid pot include the following factors: numbers of flowers (many) sizes of the tree (big), petals (thick and shiny), stems (stout), roots and leaves (strong roots and shiny leaves)… each orchid grower puts his/her best efforts to contribute the most beautiful and the strangest pot of orchid to the contest for spectators and flower-lovers.
As a result, the organizers have awarded first, second and third prizes to three kinds of orchids (Cattleya, wild and synthetic orchids). For Cattleya orchid, the first prize went to Tran Huyen Vi (Ho Chi Minh city), the second prize belonged to Nguyen Thi Thu Van (Ben Tre); and the three third prizes were awarded to Nguyen Thao (Tien Giang), Le Van Chung (Ho Chi Minh city) and Nguyen Duy Vuong (Phan Thiet city).
For wild orchid, the first prize belonged to Hoang Thai Vi (Bao Loc); the second prizes was given to Huynh Van Hoa (Dong Nai) and the third prizes went to Phan Thanh Sang (Da Lat city).
For the synthetic orchid, Vi Tan Dung (Da Lat city) won the first prize while Nguyen Huu Vinh (Da Lat city) earned the third prize, without the second prize for this category.
In addition, the organizers handed over 15 consolation prizes to other participants at the contest.
