Themed 'Quang Nam, Heritage Connection Journey', the festival brought together more than 2,000 artists, actors, actresses, athletes, scientists and entrepreneurs from 35 provinces and cities around the country, as well as 33 countries, territories and international organisations from around the world.
The festival featured 22 cultural, artistic, sporting and tourism activities, leaving a deep impression on both domestic and foreign visitors.
Addressing the closing ceremony for the sixth Quang Nam Heritage Festival, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, expressed her appreciation for the efforts made by the province in preserving and promoting the cultural values of the local heritages and relic sites.
She emphasised that mobilising the whole community’s to participate was the greatest success of the festival.
On the occasion, the Vice President praised the coordination and support from agencies and units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Ministry of Industry and Trade; Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and the Vietnam National Committee for UNESCO; as well as enterprises and international organisations.
She asked Quang Nam province to enhance the preservation and promotion of Quang Nam Heritage Festival brand; study and organise more diverse and practical activities; and attract more domestic and foreign investment resources for the local socio-economic development.
The relevant agencies should pay great attention in order to select tourism products imbued with local cultural identities to attract more visitors, contributing to the province’s rapid and sustainable development.
At the ceremony, visitors and people enjoyed a unique arts programme themed ‘Thu Bon – A heritage river’, which was arranged meticulously.
