The US$88 million sub-project belongs to a larger World Bank-funded project aiming to improve the environment around Vietnam’s coastal cities.
The Phan Rang-Thap Cham sub-project is being implemented during the 2017-2022 period in two phases, the first one includes the expansion and construction of water channels, drainage pipes, school and public toilets, in addition to the Phan Dang Luu neighbourhood.
The area, covering 5.6 hectares in Phuoc My ward and Thanh Hai commune, is expected to provide accommodation to 239 households.
The goal of the project is to improve the flood drainage systems in response to climate change, and build a green, clean and picturesque city, helping to improve the quality of life for residents in cities and their suburbs.
The first phase is scheduled to be completed in August 2021 and the entire project in 2022.
