After the opening ceremony and gift-giving to students, the 2,000-meter-long lantern parade walked in succession through a number of main streets such as: Nguyen Tat Thanh, Ton Duc Thang, Thu Khoa Huan, Tran Hung Dao, etc. The coastal city was suddenly lit up by colorful and amusing shapes of big and small lanterns accompanied by exciting dragon and lion dances.
Under the theme “Phan Thiet Children – Cheering Mid-Autumn Festival –Studying hard – Doing thousands of good deeds”, this year’s mid-autumn festival gathered dozens of big lanterns in various shape of animals, historical heroic characters, globe featuring Vietnam’s seas and islands, etc.
As known, this cultural mid-autumn lantern procession has been recognized as the largest of its kind to be held so far by Vietnam Book of Records (Vietbooks).
