At the meeting, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Ngoc Hai reported the local socio-economic situation to the state Vice President. To date, the province has 24 out of 31 major criteria obtaining and over exceeding the plan set by the 13th provincial Party Congress’s Resolution (Term 2015-2020). The province has achieved many positive results, gradually shifting its economic growth from breadth to depth. The quality of growth and labor productivity is significantly improved. The scale of total domestic product values has continuously increased over the years. The economic structure has gradually shifted towards intensification in the proportion of industry and services. In the next term of 2020-2025, the province has set up 11 primary tasks, 5 major tasks, and 3 breakthroughs.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice State President Thinh praised the achievements of the whole collective of Binh Thuan over the past years. In the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, Binh Thuan has put every effort to fulfil its “dual tasks” as developing the economy and curbing the epidemic. Such efforts have been realized by the 3.81 percent growth in state revenues. Binh Thuan has successful treated Covid-19 patients and controlled the resurgence of Covid-19. In the upcoming time, Vice State President urged the locality to build up major tasks, launch patriotic movements in each sector, and level to create new impetus, improve the achievements, and attract potential investments.

Binh Thuan should focus on administrative reforms, improving PCI and PAPI indicators, etc to pave the paradise for business investors. At the same time, it needs to build up a contingent of high-skilled staff to level up the province in an ascending direction, said Ms. Thinh.
Concluding the meeting, Vice State President presented VND 1.3 billion to the provincial Children Protection Fund.
