VBSP conducts fact-finding tour on fresh water supply and rural environment

BTO – On February 26th morning, a delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Duc Hai – Deputy Director of Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) made a fact-finding tour to Ham Minh commune, Ham Thuan Nam district to check the local real situation of clean water supply and the environment there.

The VBSP surveyed the water sources in Ham Thuan Nam

Through some investigations, the delegation offered a preferential loan of VND 20 million each to the surveyed households for fresh water supply installment and toilet construction.

Leaders of Ham Minh commune reported that, the whole commune has 1,646 households who are beneficiaries of preferential loans of the VBSP over the past years. The VBSP has lent some VND 17.592 billion over the installment of 3,129 fresh water supply and sanitary toilets. Almost all of the mortgagors have fully conducted their responsibilities of interest payments on time.

The preferential loans have so far contributed to helping the local residents to access to clean water sources and other sanitary facilities, fulfilling the criteria on new-style rural commune of Ham Minh.

Addressing the meeting, Mr. Hai appraised the achievements of credit program in Ham Minh commune and Ham Thuan Nam district. He recorded the locality’s suggestion to raising the loan level up to VND 30 million per household in remote areas. The suggested loans shall be proposed to the Central Government for consideration.
